It's no secret I am a huge fan of Aubrie's. Colonization is another winner! This YA novel is a must read. First of all, the cover is GORGEOUS! Of course the story is appealing, a perfect mixture of sci-fi, fantasy and real life issues, everything I've come to anticipate from this wonderful author.
Seventeen year-old Andromeda has spent her entire life on a space vessel. As if she didn't have enough pressure with surviving teenagehood and dealing with her secret love for childhood friend Sirius, her family's reputation is riding on her shoulders . Andromeda is compromised and does not perform well on crucial tests, tests that will define her future. In an instant, her dreams are dashed when she is assigned to menial work and the boy she loves slips through her fingers. Even worse, a computer match seals her fate by assigning Corvus (the oaf) as her life-partner. No matter that she is the great-granddaughter of the commander of the ship, her fate is sealed .
When their space vessel lands on Paradise 21, their new home, she will face the hardest tests of all. Andromeda will struggle to save her childhood friend, prevent a deadly disaster from striking her colony, and uncover her heart's true desire.
